Keeping the Magic of Yesteryears Alive
Nestled within the historic walls of Conwy, Yesteryears Toy Shop has been creating memories for generations of children and families. Established in 2000 by Mike and Georgina Pattinson, the shop quickly became a beloved part of Conwy High Street, known for its traditional toys, collectables, and sense of wonder that is increasingly rare to find today.
For us, Yesteryears is far more than a toy shop.
Having grown up within the town walls of Conwy, the shop has been part of Rory’s life for as long as he can remember. Yesteryears opened when he was just four years old, and from that moment it became one of those special places every child dreams about. It was a shop full of colour, warmth, imagination, and the excitement of never quite knowing what treasure you might discover around the next corner.

Rory has worked here before!
Years later, Yesteryears would also become Rory’s first job as a teenager. Like many local families, they have countless memories tied to this little shop and the role it has played in the character of Conwy.
Brittany and Rory first met while studying at maritime college. Long before taking on Yesteryears, we spent four years building and running their own business together, learning the skills and values that we now bring to the shop every day.
Their love of toys started long before that. As children, Rory collected Papo Knights while Brittany filled her shelves with Schleich animals. Those collections sparked a lifelong appreciation for imaginative play, quality craftsmanship, and the joy that a truly special toy can bring.
When the opportunity arose to take over Yesteryears, it felt less like acquiring a business and more like becoming caretakers of something deeply important to the town they love.
Keeping the Magic of Yesteryears Alive
For many people, Yesteryears has long been an important part of Conwy High Street. We are incredibly proud to continue the story and magic originally created by Mike and Georgina, whose passion helped make the shop a destination for families from across North Wales and beyond.
As new owners, our goal is not to change what makes Yesteryears special, but to preserve and build upon it.
We believe a traditional toy shop should be a place of discovery. A place where children can be inspired, where grandparents find toys they remember from their own childhoods, and where families can stumble upon something they’ve never seen before.
That’s why we carefully select toys, games, collectables and specialist brands that you won’t find everywhere else. We want every visit to feel like an adventure.

A Traditional Toy Shop for a New Generation
Independent businesses are a vital part of what makes Conwy such a special place. They give character to our High Street, create memories for visitors, and help keep the town’s unique identity alive.
We understand how important that is because we’ve experienced it ourselves.
Every decision we make is guided by a simple question:
“Would this give someone the same feeling I had as a child walking through the door of Yesteryears?”
If the answer is yes, it belongs here.
Alongside the shop itself, our website allows us to continue expanding the range of toys, collectables and specialist brands we can offer, while bringing a small part of the Yesteryears experience to customers beyond Conwy.
Whether you’re visiting us in person or discovering us online, we hope you’ll find something that sparks imagination, creates memories, and reminds you that the best toys never really go out of style.
Welcome to Yesteryears Toy Shop.
A place where childhood memories are made, rediscovered, and passed on to the next generation.
